Tuesday 29th March, 2017. A delegation from MTN Ghana, led by Ms. Cynthia Lumor, Corporate Services Manager, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah.

Hon. Amoako-Attah commended MTN for their continuous partnership with Government in delivering some social services in the area of education and health as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.  He noted that, Government has a deep interest in promoting education in all forms including distance learning, which requires reliable internet network and therefore tasked the Company not to relent in its drive to increase accessibility.

On the issue of disruption of fibre optic cables as a result of construction activities, the Hon. Minister assured the Team from MTN of the Ministry’s cooperation and collaboration to minimise such disruptions.

On her part, Ms. Cynthia Lumor thanked the Hon. Minister for the warm reception. She said, the Team was grateful for the assurance of support in curbing the high rate of fibre optic disruptions which comes at a huge cost to the company. Ms. Lumor pledged the company’s continuous support and collaboration with Government in delivering essential social services to the people of Ghana.

Also present at the meeting were Officials of the Ministry of Roads and Highways. END
